Petrol 4ltr . One of our company vehicles . The 4WD indicator light and the Free Wheel Hub indicator light continuously flash . Cycling the 4wd selector switch makes no difference and it appears that the vehicle is always in 2WD . The operators manual we have may be for the previous model and makes no reference to flashing lights . Any help much appreciated .

Rotord,
To stop the lights from flashing, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then re connect.
If they still flash after reconnecting the battery it might be a trip to the auto electrician.

When did the problem start, was it after a flat battery?
If not it could be just a bad connection, broken wire or U/S position indicator switch on the tfer case.
I had the same problem with the Navara after getting a flat battery when in 4x4. When power is restored the computer has reset and thinks it should be in 2H but the postion indicaor swiches in the tfer case say otherwise causing the dash indicator lights to flash. To fix, it was a just a matter of removing the hi/low/4x4 step motor at the back of the tfer case and manually move the tfer box to 2H and replace the motor.
Hope this helps
Chris

hi there
this is acommon problem with mitsu pajeros and tritons
its always the switches on the box/transfer and the front diff, however with no real experience with ford/mazda it could be another problem, but might be somewhere to start....

2005 Ford Courier would be under Warranty. Why worry about the problem yourself - Ford will fix it for nothing.

Thanks for all the replies .
As Wayne suggested , I disconnected the battery for a few minutes . Reconnected the battery with the range selector switch in 2WD , 4WD indicator no longer flashing , cycled FreeWheel Hub switch and the FW light stopped flashing . Will do a test drive to try all functions . Your helpfull advice saved a 200km drive to the Ford dealer and is much appreaciated .
