Folks, in a post in August I voiced some displeasure at the way in which Nissan had dealt their hand on what I purchased as an extended warranty.
EO Post August 30th
Today I had the play outcome and the pleasure in the mail. No it wasn't one of 'those' toys. I have dealt with two people in Nissan Customer Service and a person spoken of with reverance on this site, Val Davis called me on Tuesday to give me the news. Nissan have sent us a cheque for all the repair expenses, and our hire car expenses for our time in
Port Augusta.
While still denying it is a warranty claim within the Warranty Department, there is some customer empathy, and I must congratulate the company management for following that path.
My advice to customers in warranty claims is to persist in your claim. We were knocked back three times and eventually sent the diff to
Melbourne for testing and waited and waited.... then persistent phoning.
I would like to thank people who called me with contact numbers within Nissan and gave me the encouragement to carry on with my claim.
Val Davis is to be nominated for sainthood!

Thanks Peter, but your Nissan is a toy and apart from that, try as I may, I cannot fit into the drivers
seat of a Navara and I am smaller that my Bro above!!!.....:-D

Moses is a bit of a heavyweight beasty and amazing that a Yota comes in lighter with more seats and by rights, as much storage too if we do it right. It seemed a long wait for the decisions in town.
Peter, sending my Bro the picture may upset him for a few days, so please don't do that. ROFLMAO He may say he is smaller than me, he is just a bit shorter he should say. Smaller? Ummmmm?

Just a bit of frustration Brian, I just had to be thick skinned for a while. Nothing unusual for me in that. LOL Thanks mate.

I was even advising of a potential to have them throw it back too Richard. I was getting ready for VCAT as I thought we had good ground, that would have cost them more. Thanks for your comments

That's great news John. I'm not waiting for money but I am waiting for an explanation on the wheel drop off issue. I live in hope.

Peter, thanks for your contact information. Eventually it went to Val but I don't know what explaination I would get. Warranty still say it wasn't their problem. Val was pretty good understading why we would claim more like fuel and CVP expenses while we were tied up but saw that would be a precedent. She had obviously done her homework. Thanks again.

Fantastic news. Hang in there and they might roll over eventually.
I had a win with Toyota once but it took a fight.
We will have to come down to celebrate. And Jen wants to check out that KSB again.

Jen, is welcome to come back no trouble, she could even bring you and the kids. LOL
Bruce, the patience was a virtue too though, just provide the justification first, then annoy them in patches. No mud left in the paddocks now Bruce. You bringin Cam?

Glad you had a good outcome John...great to see.
Of course, in hindsight, I can understand why this has taken sooooo long to address. Nissan would have had to recruit and train somebody for a new department within the company: "Warranty Claims".....after all, yours was probably the first claim they've ever had for a broken Patrol; the damn things are just soooooo reliable they probably took the 1st few months scratching their collective heads saying things like "strewth, this bloke has broken a Patrol......must be a scam" etc etc hahaha
Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for 2hungy

Roachie, I went into the company I work with as a 'change agent' and I guess I could reform "Warranty Claims" too. I have stayed longer than a change agent would normally as I have kept reforming my place.
Your local manager is taking me to
Melbourne for the start of the Boxing Day Test, our CFO too and another colleague of
mine. I will have to keep myself sorted over Christmas I think.

Good one John.
It's good to see persistence has prevailed and you can now enjoy Christmas without that hanging over your shoulders.
Merry Christmas
Cheers Luke

Thanks Luke, a pleasant victory, I guess it wasn't hanging too heavily, it was another challenge though I didn't need.
