Hi all,

About to purchase a electric winch for the Patrol towing a camper for our year long trip around Australia. I am looking for best bang for my buck and keeping in mind it probally won't be used that often but I do want something that will be reliable. Thanks in advance for your replys

Warn XD9000 or M10000 were my choices. bargains to be had used, get them serviced for $50-100 and your better off than an ebay lucky fats.

Ironman seem to be reliable - I use the 12,000lb model with remote.

I'd second that. I've had one in the Patrol for 8 months and am happy with it. A very good price as well.

Cheers. Mick.

Hey Bonz, I was thinking along the same lines 4x4 Australia did a winch test and the premier came out on top and was a lot cheaper than the Warn. Question is does it fit into a Nissan standard winch bar?
