Why not give Air Command a call and ask them...atleast you will get the correct information.

My Honda EU20 will start and run the Heron 3 in my van. The start-up current is fairly high (>2.5kv) and the Honda stumbles for a second or two but once running it's fine and
well within the Honds's rating.

ok this is a good way to work I have a Honda 3KVA they will run 2800kw at 100% now most air con require 1800 to 2000 kw that's 2KVA to start, that is if your air con is an older style with out soft start up . So Now if your looking at getting an air con get good 1 as cheep is not always better, Look at spending at least 2,500 . Same as Gen sets My little Honda Cost a lot almost 4,000 But after 3 years its still go's First pull .
Hope that Helped
Chris

Matt I also have a Heron 3 in my 2006 Expanda. I can start the aircon from my EU20i with the eco throttle off once the compressor has cycled a few time I then drop the gen back to eco throttle and all is okay.
Cheers Worm.
