Afternoon Everyone,
Well with 12 hours left to go before we hit the road, and go over Greenmount
Hill, I just wanted to say thanks everyone for their help and advice.
The caravan is packed, no doubt hubby will be home in twenty minutes to re-pack it :-). Portable DVD players, MP3 and Nintendos DS are charged. Kids are semi packed, good byes said to Mum and Dad and my brother.
So everyone have a great Christmas break, I will have internet access, limited, but we will have it. My b-i-l and I are sharing it.
Thanks to Andrew from Vivid, for the advice about our camera. It arrived from photo buff yesterday, hubby went mad and brought the 40D, with an IS lens.
Hopefully I will be able to update fuel prices along the way, if the Eyre Highway is opened, it was closed yesterday as result of truck V Car....car driver was killed. Yes I rang the main roads...the conservation went like this " Eyre Highway did you say...I don't think that highway belongs to us...." Me " I think it does "...him " Ok I know this is really stupid question.....but how do you spell Eyre ?"...I couldn't help but laugh....he works for damn main road...and he doesn't know the Eyre Highway...?
Proper trip report when I get back/along the way.
Debbie.

Have a good one Deb.
We head off tuesday, I spent my last day at work today downloading free audiobooks for the kids MP3 players, fairytales, classic etc.
They've never gone more than a 4hour trip, so the nullabor will test em.
Have a safe trip.

Hmmm not sure about your attitude
Grey Gonads. Downloading free books in time for which your boss is paying you? Maybe next time try buying some in your own time! Have a nice trip.

Have a fabulous Christmas and a safe end relaxing trip Debbie & Kev.
Don't stress about best
places to buy fuel - just buy it when you need it. The few dollars difference it might make over the cost of the whole holiday is just not worth stressing about.
When we headed out last year, unseasonal rains had flooded the
Lake Grace area - our short cut east, and i rang main roads to see if there was anywhere we could get through. There wasn't, so i said it would add extra time to our trip going via
Esperance, and the lady said "the Fitzgerald river bridge is due to be opened tomorrow afternoon" - i didn't even know that that it had been washed out. Fixed and open the day before we left - lucky.
Happy travels
Motherhen
