Me, the missus and our 4y.o. boy are heading to Broome for a camping based holiday in August next year. Will spend alot of time camping through the GRR and Middle Lagoon/Cape Leveque area.

Want to know if any-one knows of a caravan park in Broome that is suitable (quiet enough) for a family of three to stay in a touring tent, that has a decent playground (and maybe a pool) where the young fella might find some other kids to play with. We are happy to pay for an onsite van/cabin if we need to (and if we can get one). Just want to make sure he gets some rest and we get to enjoy Broome for the few days we intend actually staying in town.

We're hoping that most of the time we'll be rough camping around the northern beaches area or maybe Barn Hill as we were in Broome same time afew years back and know that its bedlam (but a decent coffee and a shower doesn't go astray!).

June, July & August are the busy months in Broome so probably none of them will be "quiet enough." The Broome CP (4km from town on the way in) may be your best bet. It has a large pool and there was a playground - most likely still is - they were redeveloping it whilst we were there last year. I would suggest ringing ahead at least 3 weeks before arriving.

Yeah, I agree with the last comment the BROOME VAN PARK is good, but as suggested, book in early, otherwise you may be disappointed. Good luck

Thanks Disco and kinggeorge,

If nothing else comes up in the next couple of days I'll book in there for the time we want to be in Broome proper.

Rohan.

Hi splatter, we (wife, 14yr old, 7 yr old, 5yr old and myself) stayed at the Cable beach caravan park in july this year. Nice park, great swimming pool, only a small playground though. Plenty of people were staying in the tent area at that time, nice big camp kitchen and right next door to the ammenities.

Have fun, Charlie.

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the info.

When we were in Broome in 2003 there was an old section and a new section. Is there the option of either when you're camping or is it all one area now?

Thanks,
Rohan.
