We had our annual Pageant this arvo and the GQ got dressed up again to take part.
Being part of the parade means a short journey of about 500 metres there and back again down the Main Street displaying your theme and throwing lollies to the kids just before Santa comes past.
I had some walkers in front of me and 2 and 3 year olds on their plastic bikes, so crawler gear was necessary. Had BBKing cranked up loud but there is always someone else with louder music...lol
After the parade is was down to the Main Street lawns to mingle with the loacls and smile at known faces and to buy overpriced and tough steak sangers from the Lions Club bbq stand. All in a good cause though :-)
So that's it for another year. Xmas Party last night and Pageant today.
Now we can start packing for the short holiday to the Big Smoke.
Cheers

Hey Daza,
B. B. King (born Riley B. King on September 16, 1925) is an American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter, widely considered one of the best and most respected blues musicians of all time.
B. B. King is a licensed pilot, a known gambler, a vegetarian, non-drinker, and non-smoker.[6] King has lived with Type II Diabetes for over twenty years and is a visible spokesman in the fight against the disease, appearing in advertisements for diabetes-management products.
Boxer Sonny Liston was King's uncle.
One of his trademarks is "Lucille", the name he has given to his guitars since the 1950s after he escaped a fire at a juke joint he was playing in. The fire was started by two men who were fighting over a woman named "Lucille". During their fight, they knocked over the bucket of burning kerosene used for heat. When King escaped the building, he realized that he had left his guitar in the burning building. He ran back inside to get it and after learning of what happened, he named his guitar "Lucille" to remind himself not to do it again.

Roachie,
You're showing your (
young) age again!!!
John Williams is an Australian Guitarist who made it on the world stage about 20+ years ago. Used to do some great stuff with Vivaldi.
Cheers

Willie,
Ahhhh, the beauty of manual locking hubs too. That's one of the reasons I junked my auto locking hubs in favour of the AVMs.... impossible to drive the auto-hub truck in low range on hard surface.

I like the manual hubs as
well - you can isolate the front diffs on the Toyotas after you bust them :-)))

Willem,
I guess you had BB King's song "Cocaine" blasting out at full volume just to make all those kiddies feel at home.

My favourite BBKing song starts off with 'Rock Me Baby' and that could be the name of the song. Good deep beat and guitar picking and with 4 speakers in the GQ I can distort it!!!!

Willem, did you ever do the Cavill crawl while in Sufferers Paradise? 1st Low is kewl according to my passengers at the time (yes I was the sober driver).
In the LC it's slow enough for the pedestrian cops to give you... and the line of cars behind you, filthy looks at least 3 times within a few hundred metres LOL

Hi Willem,
I remember
Milton dressed up his old Troopy for the Bougainvillea Festival parade through
Darwin, with kids hanging out of all the windows. I think it was for the TLCC entry from memory. Low range, hubs undone.

Hi Mike
Yeah I seem to recall somethiong like that. Also had to tow Nino's(Pizza) old bus after the even as it had given up the ghost. lol. Nino promised
Milton a carton but he never got it...hahaha.
Milton sold the old Troopy last year and the new owner has restored it to its original condition.
Cheers
