What do you do to stop getting any dirty fuel (ulp) in your tank when you are buying fuel out in the bush, eg put a strainer over the petrol spout or a stocking

Hi Mike,

go to www.mrfunnel.com that is your answer to dirty fuel or fuel with water.

They have funnels for diesel and ULP , they work 100% , i separated water and fuel 50/50 without any problems.

The only problem is that the talk inlet id higher on a 4 x 4 and the flow rate from the pump is too high so you will be covered in petrol and stink like a petro sniffer.

Only way is to refuel from jerry's , thats what we have done.

Good luck

Which model do you have?? as the F15 model should keep up with a bowser pump.

Cheers Kev

Thanks Kev,

i have the one with the two filter cartridges but it is more the fact that you have to hold it relatively high up on the Prado and the actual funnel , in my opinion is not large enough. i always struggeld at the pump. I even thought of closing the top with a lid and only have a hole for the petrol nozzle.

As i said , we never had problems refueling from Jerrys from the roof but the pump is a different kettle of fish.

That's the F15 model, all the others only have a single filter from what I can see on their web site.
I have one (the F15) on order for Darkie, so I will have to wait and see how it goes.

Cheers Kev

Would it have been a sediment bowl, rather than a filter?
