I saw this Australian Movie years ago. About a mob of Wildcat Miners somewhere around Andamooka.

It starred Gerard Kennedy and that "Bert Duggan" from The Sullivans amongst others.

Anyone have it on DVD or have a clue where to get it?

G'day Jim,

one of my favourites from about 25 yrs ago yep. A Tim Burstall film. I have never found it but did (with great delight!) find the book, written by John Powers, published by Sun, 1979.

It was actually first produced as a play in 1973 by the Melbourne Theatre Company. It toured Australia and was professionally produced in London and appeared at the 1976 Edinburgh Festival. Other work by John Powers include "Th Hot Centre of the World", "Shindig" and "The Reluctant Rebel." He also wrote a book on Barassi.

The movie was distributed by Roadshow.

cheers,

Jeremy.

Great Movie. Love the look on Tarzan's face in the last scene as "Bert" hangs one on the Hun, his eyes light up and he says "Oh Yeah".

Haven't seen it in years but I will track it down.

Try Planet Video in Mt Lawley, Starland Video in Hamilton Hill or the video store in Glyde St Mosman Park.

Is usually available in the Australian section of video stores. It would be a VHS release, not DVD I'd say.

I think it had Denise 'Ding Dong' Drysdale playing the town bike too.

Another one I'm mad keen to see is the 'Nickel Queen' starring John Laws and filmed at Broad Arrow north of Kalgoorlie in the early 1970's.
