Is the 12v connection in the rear of LC100 adequate to run a Waeco 50L or do I need to install another adapter unit with thicker wiring?

No it is not adequate. Yes you do need to install thicker wiring.
Well, depending on how hard and how long you want to run it.

Hi Shameem
As Andrew advises no the plug is not suitable.
Yes you need a dedicated cable of 6mm2 and a good socket (Hella Type).
Do you already have a dual battery ?

Derek.

Thanks Derek,
I am about to organise a dual battery system. I have the kit from Waeco that comes with thick leads and socket, so it seems it may be best to get all that installed at the same time when I get the dual battery setup.
Regards

Have a look at the RAPS kits on Waecos website.

Have been operating a CF 50 from the existing rear power outlet in the LC100 for the past two years without a problem.
The outlet only operates when the ignition is at least on accessories.
I have not operated for any lengthy period without the motor running but in most cases the fridge will hold overnight without any problems.

Have u tried the wire to see how hot it gets when the fridge is running cos its certainly a lot lighter that the recommended wire size.
