Hi. We are travelling to the Cape at the end of June (4 vehicles - 7 adults, 6 kids) and noticed in message no 5046 info from Cape York Connections that access to Vrilya Point and beach at Somerset was closed. Can anyone confirm whether this is still the case and if yes, whether it will remain closed. Also noted that Frenchman's Track may also be closed at some time in the near future. Again, can anyone give advice on this as well as how rough Frenchman's is at present, if accessible. Any other info on track conditions would be most welcome.

Are there any beaches that you can now drive on in the Cape? I was looking forward to the run along the beach to the ship wreck. Saw the photo on Ron Moon's website and thought that it looked great.

Nothing better than driving up a beach for a way, finding a place to camp, setting up and putting your feet up, with a line in the water, a cold one in the hand and the flies up me nose.....
