Hey all,
Has anyone done the trek from
Tom Groggin to
Omeo via Sassafras Gap recently. I am looking at options either going straight across from
Tom Groggin to Sassafras Gap then down to
Omeo, or
Tom Groggin via Corryong then down to
Omeo.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks

Not that way, but I did
Omeo to
Tom Groggin via Davies Plain about 3 weeks ago if that's any help?

We've done the
Tom Groggin to
Omeo via Mt Hope a few times but not recently.
Once you climb up from
Tom Groggin it is 2wd all the way to
Omeo on forest and local dirt roads. We actually went from
Omeo to
Tom Groggin and it only takes a couple of hours without pushing it.

Firestorm,
Travelled from
tom groggin to wheelers
creek hut a few weeks ago. Via Mt. Pinnibar and the shady crk upper track.
Shady
creek uper is very over grown and a good challenge. Took the jeep? track (via Pinibar hut) a few years ago and the track was far easier going.
We went from Wheelers crk. hut to Charlie Crk. and lost a lot of time in track
clearing and re-routing our journey due to the presence of large fallen trees on the benuba loggin rd. around Mt. Anderson and on Mc. Carthy's.
Mt. Pinibar track is in good nick though recent works will create some big ruts in the next year or two.
Paul.

I went from
Omeo to
Tom Groggin and over the
Murray River on the 17th of Dec. The track was good. A few steep sections near
Tom Groggin that in the wet would become rather nasty but easy in the dry. Easier to drive the track
Omeo to
Tom Groggin rather than
Tom Groggin to
Omeo. Murray was only up to the diff. Might be a bit higher now, been some rain in recent days.
