hey all,, i purchased a hwod unit around 3months ago now it has seen only 3weeks of the bush and it is playing up.....it might be human error on my part but when i turn the control knob the burner doesn't light the pump pumps the water ok and i can hear the piezo ignition going crazy but none of the standard burner firing up noise and the hum of gas burning..... was fine last night before bed but this morning went to use it and no good..... before you all ask i have checked the gas bottle and even swapped to another gas bottle just in case i have also checked the water line for kinks, blockages ect but to no avail...anyone out there tell me what i am doing wrong if anything?? other prob is left the receipt at home for the blasted thing DOH!!! i was wondering how hard to get replacement under warranty without it on my way through melb later this week??? If i cant get it working before then.
cheers beau

how's the charge in the battery?

Did you turn the knob fully on to start it?

Was it windy? My first one used to blow out. Solved this by partially blocking the vents at the top with a towel.

Anyway, after numerous other problems they swapped it for a new one despite it being nearly two years old. Newie is great so far.

Without a receipt? That is going to be tough. Any chance of someone at home faxing it through or perhaps contact the place you bought it from and ask them to fax a receipt?

If you need somewhere in Melb to get it faxed to I'm happy to give you my fax no and you can pick it up when you go through Melbourne.

Jim.

This is an extract from the ACCC site:

Seeking a refund
To seek a refund you:
• should return the goods in a reasonable time
after buying them and you must not lose, destroy
or damage them
• may be asked to provide proof of purchase—
the best way to do this is to show your store receipt
or credit card or bank statement which shows details
of the purchase.
You have the right to seek a refund irrespective of
whether you have proof of purchase. In practice, however,
it is easier for you to seek a refund if proof of purchase
can be supplied to the retailer, supplier or manufacturer.

For example, they could 'phone the store that sold it to you and ask them to check their records in relation to sales of that item.

Happy days

George

sounds like a jet blocked as a guess.......

not sure how to access it, as i never had this problem.

i'm sure someone else on here should be able to help you, or at least you could ring Coleman customer service team on 1800 224 350.

We had the same problem with our first Coleman unit so we took
it back to the camp shop and they sent it away and replaced it with a new one. New one works fine.

HAd one a few years ago with a similar problem after a few uses, I could hear the gas fire up for about 1 second then shut off. I guessed it was a problem with the flow sensor in that it wasn't detecting water flow so it shuts the gas down.

Back to Kmart for a new one, no problems since.
