I had a friend here who drove my 4.2TD and he seem to think there is something wrong with my car. It feels like the Turbo cuts in above 2000rpm because below that it feels like my old Landcruiser without a turbo. Very tired. The motor has only done 65,000km.
Anybody here with some ideas?

cheers
Reiner

Try a post at the Nissan Patrol Forum as well. Bound to get a heap of ideas.

Cheers. Mick

My 4.2td Patrol has the turbo coming on boost from 1600rpm and is at full boost by 2000rpm so I think that you have a real problem.
I would first of all change the fuel filter plus the air cleaner then see how it goes. If that does not work then take it to a RELIABLE diesel mech. to have it tuned. Also check the exhaust in case there is some sort of blockage such as a crushed pipe etc.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

Mine goes a s this one, I found any loss of power on mine was dirty fuel filters. I only seem to get about 15000km out of mine.

Mine was the same when I first bought it, even though everything looked ok I changed the air filter and it felt like I'd added another turbo. Even though it "looked" ok it must have been completely stuffed, it's a cheap place to start anyway.
