Wondered has anyone had any bad experiences with this truck after about 120,000km. Conversely, is everbody happy?

My 04 GLS DiD manual has 150,000 happy kilometers of travelling on it.

If it is an 05 model, then most the of the problems associated with a new model should have been sorted out eg companion shafts circlips may give way on earlier versions when towing etc.

I have had several issues (that may be related to very few and in certain circumstances), in that the earthing of the brake booster setup had vibrated loose over some rough terrain (several weeks in the Flinders), etc.

The 05 should be great and the motor is brilliant IMO.

Are you buying?

Enjoy :-)

The truck in question is in fact a Platinum. My concern was that it has been a company country reps car and there is no service history but it looks pretty good. Am buying subject to a full inspection report.
Have had a '92 Patrol dual fuel up to now and very happy with it but it's time to move on. Am looking forward to my new toy.

As a rep car i would look for any sign of front-end damage due to to roos etc....look for paint differences, especially hidden underneath and in door areas. He (?) must be lucky to travel that far in a short period of time and not hit something. :-)

I wonder why there is no service history??? even a ultratune style business would be better than nothing. Oil changes intervals are vital to maintaining the longevity of this engine.

BTW, where are you buying this from? (just the state or town). I had a friend who was going to buy a similiar vehicle only to pull out as some things just didn't add up.

No service history whatsoever, should be grounds for a couple thousand drop in price, coupled with the high kms.

Enjoy...

Thanks for your input. I was impressed with the body work as it looked very clean and in good condition. The car is in a yard in Melbourne specialising in 4x4 and their stock is only late models.
Have been back to the yard and have in fact found service records and will confirm with the servicing workshop.
Looks good
