I have 235/85 16 on std 100 series rims (which are 6 inch I think). 235mm is 9.25 inch, so yours should theoretically be only 0.25 inch or 6mm wider. I'd put one on and see how it compares to 235/85.

what sort of cruiser what sort of splitty
I guess it would fit but on an 80 or ute either 75-79 it would be a stretch onto the 5.5 inch split
should be OK on a 105 series 6 inch split

Could also be a 6.5 inch RV steel rim I have on my 105 cruiser! Should fit okay on them.

i guess he has said they are 6.5 inch splittys but they can be 6.5 inch or a splitty - not both
If they were a splitty i would probably replace them with a more suitable wheel for that type of tyre

Gidday bigaz,
Way back in the distant past as a tyre fitter for Dunlop I attended a training session at the Aunger wheel factory.
I was told [ as a general rule ] the shoulder to shoulder width of a tyre should never be greater than 2" wider than the rim width.

IE: 6.5" splits = 8.5" tyre...etc etc. The 9.5" tyre is so close that there wouldnt be a problem.

I must however point out that this, at the time, was directed more towards the race and performance road cars rather than 4wds, but I cant see how this general rule shouldnt apply to all types of tyres.

Hope this is of some help,

Cheers....Lionel.

sorry for the confusion, they are the standard skinny wheels of a 105 series poverty pack.

Question why do simex say 9.5" wide when they are really 10.5"?

Hi BigazThe standard 100 series splits are only 6 inch, and are usaully silver
The 5 stud 7# series are 5.5 inch and usaully grey so they can be told apart.
No help to your queston, but I thuoght I would just clarify.
I run 235's and was told that was the biggest I could go on that rim
