Sad to see that the former Premier and Statesman has passed away.
Regardless of Party affiliations and policies, and only having a passing interest in politics, I have always admired Statesmen of his generation.

My condolences to his family, friends and associates.

Agreed Lionel.

I don't think WA, or even Australia, has seen the likes of Sir Charles since he left office.

Even on the other side of the political fence "Honest" John Tonkin was of a similar mould.

Must have been something to do with those times.

But there's no doubt WA (and Oz) owes the mining boom to Sir Charles.
