New turbo diesel hilux motor??

Hi all
Can anyone here please help me out?
My brother hs just got him self a 2006 model turbo diesel hilux dual cab sr and its got a rough idle when cold and has a miss as
well when cold,The miss is like a small back fire or like it wants to stop when he puts the foot down first thing in the morning when cold only.And are they a loud idling motor?Its a lot nosier than my 2004 turbo Prado??Any help would be great and i hope you all have a good Xmas

PS..He has chaged all the oil and fuel filters and it has a new air cleaner as
well and still no good,Motor has just done 100,000klm

Take it off to a Diesel Specialist, and get it looked at. I guarantee it will be worth it. And whilst its there get it Dyno-tuned as
well..
Not too sure if Toyota uses the same base motor across its range, like the way Nissan is heading.
There could be a possibility, that they are different motors, or maybe just loose tappets.
Just get it checked out

I have the same 06 model. It's very quiet at idle, not at all like the Nissan's and rodeos.

sounds like it might be leaking air over night or a glow plug is not working

It's still under new car Warranty so take it back to Toyota.

Try changing your fuel source. My L/C 100TD showed similar symptoms after filling with diesel from independent service stations a couple of times. I went back to filling with Shell or BP - problem solved.
