40 odd degrees, air/con stuffed, bumper to bumper all along the freeway between Os
Park and Rockingham, 4 nose-tail prangs, idiots taking stupid risks just to gain a car length.
Once at the designated meeting place my and my partners moms start rattling swords, Its now 43 degrees and the bro in law forgot the ice, try to pick a quite corner and sip warm beer, 8 toddlers want me to play with them and their new toys, after a feed of ham prawns and turkey both mothers each place a pav on the table, under the watchful eyes of both women I try a piece of both pavs and tactfully declare a draw, [even thats not good enough] and the potential for WW3 now exists.
By now the teenagers have their noses glued to their mobiles, and any attempt to talk to them is met with that pizz-off-im bizzy look, meanwhile a couple of the toddlers have decided to empty my pack of fags into the paddling pool.
To top it all off Im given the latest additon to the outlaw mob to cuddle for the afternoon photo shoot, as soon as I force my smile the little bugga brings up some unwanted trifle and everyone cracks up except me.
7 pm home time YAHOO, sit in the over heating car while the missus insists on kissing and hugging every person there, by 8.30 were on our way. Get asked--did you enjoy yourself ?......"yes dear", Did you enjoy the food ?....."yes dear", Such and such has put on a lot of weight....."yes dear", The baby was cute...."yes dear", Why was your mom trying to pick a fight with
mine...."yes dear"..... ..... ..... ....
Only 364 sleeps till it all happens again......LOL [not].
Hope everyone enjoyed their day......Lionel.

Hey Doug, tried clikkin on the
El Arish but the puter throws up a blue screen then ginds away for 10 mins. Ill keep trying.
I think yourve got the right idea, about a year ago I was carrying out some maintaince on a property tennented by ferrals. They were using a jack russell pup as a football. I took it off them and brought him home. While on the phone to the vet about getting him checked out and having the usual shots etc, The girl asked me his sex, age and name. Being too soon for a name I looked at him on the floor next to me and his hind leg was spinning like a tubocharged
windmill, fleas flying everywhere.
Immediately called him SCRATCH and the name has stuck.
Next xmas we will take your advice. Quitely load the Patrol, switch the mobile off, grab Scratch and bugga off to the other side of the country....LOL.
Cheers....Lionel.

Had a lovely day here, yes it was over 40 degrees but we didn't notice it, (too busy) we had the whole family, including littlies and not a cross word among them, all enjoyed their pressies, all enjoyed their hot Chrissy dinner, had at 2pm as we had to wait for a daughter who was held up by a late plane from
Melbourne, but no complaints. After the last ones left (about 9pm) hubby and I sat out under the back patio and talked of the great day we just had. Geez we were lucky to have such a lovely day.
Cheers

Well Christmas in
Newcastle was nothing like 40. It was around 23 degrees and raining up until around 2pm. I would have like it to a little warmer but glad it was not 40.
