Hi all
Suddenly discovered
water on the floor of our van this morning despite temps of over 40 in the past few days. Looks as if the roof has been leaking for some time and accumulating in the ceiling space before finding a way out last night.
Does anyone know what action I need to take to (a) seal the roof and (b) remove and replace the ceiling as I think that they may be a bit of damage inside.
Many thanks
John & Helen

I own a Jayco Swan. Within a couple of years of purchase (new) I had to remove the 4 seasons hatch, clean off old sealer and re-seal. Seems to have solved the problem (for me). Good luck with it. Remember, that when
water leaks in it can often travel some distance before making itself known. Can often be difficult to trace the actual source of the leak.

Have you got an air conditioner...could it be condensation as it was so hot ????
Hopefully I won't have this problem with my pop top.....and I always leave my van with a slight tilt to the front so the
water drains off and does not pool on the roof.
Good luck

If it is on the floor near the fridge it is a condensation tray at the back of the fridge that fills up from the white tray inside the fridge that catches the
water from the cooling fins, when it is full it just spills on the floor and runs out underneath the fridge. Usually happens in high humidity days when camped for some time.
You can remove the bottom vent and empty it.

Hi John & Helen, I had a Jayco poptop that was for ever leaking through the ceiling. Despite resealing the roof several times the leak persisted. Eventually took it to a caravan repair place and found out that the screws that pass through the ceiling and secure the internal roof raising levers were too long (manufacturing design fault). The screws, due to vibration, eventually made pin holes in the roof. The holes were virtually invisible but still let in an enormous amount of
water. Once the pin holes were waterproofed I had no more roof leaks. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the rest of the van (numerous leaks through windows etc.) I wont ever buy another Jayco but hopefully this info may help to solve your problem
Regards
Chris
