Hi

Has anyone used the liquid puncture repair in a bottle products. I believe the liquid is squirted into the tube and the tyre then inflated. If the tyre is punctured, the sealant leaks through the hole where it meets the air and hardens. I'm not keen on using this in a car but wonder if it would be a good product for the kids bikes which suffer from prickle enduced punctures at a local caravan park.

thanks Kc

As a followup, i use Stan's NoTubes on my mountain bike with great success, though there is a home-made recipe for a similiar product that works great.....

Hi Guys

Stans and Slime seem to be the main contenders. Any suggestions where to buy them and cost?

Thanks for your help. I have used the puncture repair in a can but found they gum up the valve in the long run.

Almost any bicycle shop should stock one or the other. :-) Stan's (no-tube system) is not cheap though, and the kits are tailored for one bike only......need to purchase extra rim tapes etc for more than one bike. Slime has similiar issues.

Slime is available from Repco in at least 3 different sizes.

They may gum up the valve in the long run, but if it gets you home from the middle of the desert, a new valve is not going to break the bank.

Slime does not require rim tapes for cars, not sure about bikes.

Slime is great for pushy's , and it seals motor cycle tubes as well, if it is a big hole it makes a mess and sticks the tube to the tyre, but you cant have it both ways.

Would these things be a good thing to put in the small tyre on my jockey wheel ?
It has not gone down yet , but I thought it might extend it's life .
Thanks ,
Willie
