We moved out of the Big Smoke of
Brisbane to Nanango in Qld. Bought a house and have just about settled in. Itchy feet. So decided to hit the tar for a while, not sure for how long or where we will end up. We left late this first day (28/12) and from Nanango we travelled to
Eidsvold via Gayndah, Mundubbera.
We have our cat and dog with us, and one of the reasons for this trip is to see how they go, my dog is old, deaf, blind etc and the cat is very nervous. So far I am amazed at their
resilience.
On some of these out of the way roads, there are few rest areas, and not many
places to pull over if one needs to. One very good area for a stop was
Ban Ban Springs. Each of the small towns has something to offer, a pity I could not stop in everyone.
For our fist night
camping we stopped at
Eidsvold in the Council Caravan
park. Only $13.20 per night and a really nice
park, great little area and a pretty town to boot. There are some interesting
places to visit within the region and we hope to visit some of these tomorrow.

Well Gramps, I thought of shooting the dog and drowning the cat but just could not bring myself to do it. So it was a question of "do we wait until they pass away" the little so and so's could outlive me, or" do we rumble down the rubble" and take our chances.
They certainly curb the destinations that we can travel, but at least we are travelling and seeing, going where we have never gone before. In fact this trip to start is a trip for the wife, to visit the
places of her youth.

Ha Ha always makes me smile when I hear something about drowning cats. I tried it when I was a
young bloke......filled up the laundry sink, put a pair of my mums rubber gloves on........."here kitty kitty"
Huh, stuck the moggie under the
water, nothing happened for a couple of seconds.......Then, holy hell, bloody thing near killed me, had to go to drs.
Still remember the hiding I got from the old man.
Oh, memories..
Cheers...............BIGDOG

Michael,
No wonder the cat's nervous! Its probably worried you're going to let the dog drive for a while.
Have a safe trip,
Hooroo,
Bob.

Mate, about a year ago we had a few days to spare, so we decided to hook the van up and buzz off to the central west NSW for something to do. The only stipulation from SYMBO was that Angel went. Angel was a pure bred male persian tom cat (desexed thankchrist) and it was his first trip in the front
seat of a landrover defender, hahahaha, Mate could not beleive it that bloody cat sat between us, never moved, enjoyed the scenery was no prob at all, But when entering a
park with the
sign up sticktley no pets was a bit of a worry! Symbos answer! ANGEL! your in the van now!, get under the bed and SHUT UP!!.
Which he did!!, hahahaha. Happy travels mate.
Cheers Axle.
