In reply to an earlier query with Robin Miller, here is the current status of Mt Strickland - near Marysville.
I was in the area Yesterday and also earlier this month. The bogs in the Black Spur Inn area are very wet / deep in places - not surprising with last weeks rain!
Mt Strickland Spur is closed with fallen trees at about 2/3rds of the way up. Intense logging at the foot of the spur. A good and challenging climb - steep & rocky, not quite as open as I remember it 20 years ago. Strickland link track is open. Once again, logging activity in the area. The climb is not quite as challenging as the Strickland Spur. At the top, at the junction with Feiglin Rd, there is a road works type "Road Closed Sign" - assume this to be due to the fallen trees on the Spur track.
Cheers to all, Tony.
