Hi, Can anyone make any recommendations for Camping (powered) from Geelong to Torquay area. We would prefer a quiet caravan park with spacious treed sites that is family friendly. We haven't stayed in parks in the area so seek any input on what people think are good, clean parks. Thanks to all who reply!

I live in the area, and midway between Geelong and Torquay is La Campanola Tourist Park, located on Torquay Rd.
Not sure if it's any good, but as it is not located on a river or water front I would think it be more desirable to stay on the coast or in Geelong on the Barwon River.

Thanks for the reply. We would prefer to be near water as we live inland and need a water break. Anywhwere on the Bellarine peninsula would be ok. The kids do want to surf at some stage, and we want to go to Geelong to the bay, but are happy to travel back. 30 - 60 mins in the car to Geelong won't be an issue as we'll travel via Geelong to get where we're going.

I have stayed at Barwon Heads Caravan Park and in the rear section you step from between the trees where your camped onto the sandy banks of Barwon River were it meets the Ocean, pretty nice.
Indented Head Caravan Park is right on the water fron also.
cheers

I find JR's/NR's places to be nice, but they are a bit further drive around, but worth it :P

Not sure if you have made arrangements yet, but I can reccomend Breamlea Caravan Park, it is small and very quite and the partolled surf beach is just a short walk. Breamlea is halfway between Torquay and Barwon Heads.

Regards
John

Thanks for the tip. I'll check them out. All others i've contacted are booked out until 26/1! Seems you have to book 6 mths in advance for January.
