I am wondering how these generators compare to each other. I believe the Yamaha is a brand new model that has replaced the ef1000.
From what I have heard the Honda is expensive to repair, and I don't know if the Yamaha is the same.
Thanks,
Dave

both are good units so quality of either is not an issue.
The Honda EU10s is $1390
The Yamaha EF1000is $1490

The specs on the new Yamaha EF1000is are sketchy.
Check here for some info on both units
www.grahams.com.au
you may find Grahams price better than others.

Both units appear to be fairly identical on specification and operation. The Yamaha would have the edge on overload condition, but that should not be of interest to you.

Difficult to decide.
Yes the Honda units are expensive to repair, but I think you will find the Yamaha around the same price. A good thing to do would be to price the inverter unit of both brands and decide on that basis.
If you intend to use this unit a substantial amount, I would be inclinded to go for the Yamaha as they have always had superior longevity in their industrial products compared to Honda.
