Do you guys have a part number on that transmission? I have taken on the task of installing this diesel engine and have run into problems with the transmission.

You guys are so lucky to have as many diesel cruisers as you do, we only had diesels imported into Canada for 8 years.

Thanks Much

Rob

Rob,

From my info, tranny model for 1HD-T is H151F. Bit of trivia for you, there are 3 different Synchroniser ring to gear clearances, up to 8/90, 8/90 to 8/92 and 8/92 on.

Transfer cases models are:

Part time 4WD - HF1A
Full Time 4WD - HF2A
Full time 4WD - HF2AV - w/- viscous coupling. Suggests that this latter t/case is fitted to all turbo's after '92, not sure if this correct, as our '97 model has the middle t/case.

What problems are you having with the transmission? Hooroo...

Thanks

Rob,

The auto model is A442F, 4 speed, electronic shift control, with lock up converter.

Thats about all I've got, unless you need some info on this tranny.

Thanks, Andrew, that explains it. Our vehicle was first purchased in the Isa, and don't think ABS and air bags are well received up there.

Hi There
What year model cruiser do u own??? In America, post 95 came out with a different tranny, same as a Prado here. You have taken on a hard conversion to do, considering, it would be easier to buy a wreck and transplant fuel system including tanks, dash with turbo lights, glow plug system, vacuum from the alt system, will be 24v starter on the motor if japanese, etc.
Best for you to ask the 80 series group in America at www.lcool.org
They might be able to help with the number of someone who imports.......like Christo Slee.

Its a 97 landcruiser, I have been told it runs the smaller tranny. The A442F will be the unit I will need.
