My Neighbor has a Navman iCN 520 , give it to me last night to give it the once over, I was surprised to see it has the SA/Vic
border track in the mapping, But then I typed in
Birdsville....no match. tried
Bedourie...no match but the it had a much less smaller place ...Middleton, I do take into account it has not had an update, I need his CD so I can do that for him and upload a heap of POIs ,My decision is that I will remain a GARMIN supporter.

Nah....New Zealand...lol. yes mate I sure did, that's another gripe I have with them. you gotta change the bloody state, anyhow the owner is happy with it ...until I showed him what the Nuvi does, but he reackons it'll do until he get a new one, gotta get his useage out of it first.

Hi Doug
I found a software glitch in the iCN520. I would select a destination in a POI (a file I created) and sometimes it would take me to another location. The glitch is not just related to files I created, I tried using the Navman software to create a file and it also did the same thing. I found a temporary fix however it's not easy to get around it as the glitch has no pattern to it.
My newer model iCN530 works great for what I use it for.

Peter
I have been given this unit on a loan for a couple of days just for trialing just to see how it functions, the owner gave me the CDs so I can install some POIs for him, (could'nt find any Knock
shop or Adult
shop POIs ) He's one of those blokes that knows how to turn it on and thats it, ..........A bit like Roachie....shhhhh, Anyhow while I had it connected I noticed there is an software update that might cover that problem, I didn't do the update testerday so take my word for it but
check for yourself.

Hi Doug
They could not fix the bug (maybe they have finally now although I doubt it). I hilighted this to them not long after I had the unit. They promised updates and fixes but it still did not correct the problem. Eventually I was given an upgrade to the iCN530 which I'm very happy with. As mentioned before the problem only ocurred in custom POI files, not the preloaded files.
Thanks
PeteS
