Some of you may know that Annette and I have bought a block of dirt and want to build a house. Not many display houses to look at here in our small country town, so we went to the "smoke" today to trudge around different estates etc.
On the way
home, only about 10klm from
home, I was listening to the cricket on the radio and got a bit carried away just at the wrong time. My in-attentiveness for a couple of minutes was all it took for a few too many neddies to escape from the 6.5's paddock and Mr Plod was right on hand to help me gather them back in. Couple of really nice blokes; but the amount they charge per hour of their time is a bit of a knee-trembler!!!
Oh
well, there goes the idea of having a front fence..... Man, this house building exercise is gunna be REALLY expensive if this is any indication. ;-))
Cheers
(a poorer) Roachie

Was my turn a few years ago but as of late, I have been real good. I trust you don't get three in a couple of months like I did LOL!!
Hope you asked them for a ticket to their annual dinner, the price was for your
seat wasn't it?
I have always been a firm believer in "those that do more k's should have more points to lose" ie: grandma that does 20k's/week going to church and back gets the same 12 points to lose as the professional driver doing 2000 plus k's per week. I can't see the similarity personally. While I'm on the soap box, the fines should be indexed to your annual income, thereby hurting the rich as much as the poor (equally as much).
Happy new year to you and the crew.
Trevor.

Hell if that was the case then Roachie couldn't afford to buy his block of land.
In case you didn't know, That bank that you used to laugh all the way to, Roachie now owns it.

Hi Stefan,
My point is, if you earn $200 000 per annum, a $200 fine would not even be recognised by you but if you are on
the rock n roll (social security payments hehehe) earning $10 000 a year then the same $200 fine hurts real bad. I reckon the fine should hurt both parties, rich and poor, equally as much ie: 1% of yearly income, 2% of yearly income and so on for each fine amount that presently exists.
Hope this is clear, as I know what I want to say but it sometimes does not come across the same when I type LOL!!!
Regards,
Trevor.

I'm really worried about Roachie letting too many neddies out of his top paddock as I thought he didn't have too many to let go when I met him.......OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH hang on, I just re-read it and he said they were escaping from the 6.5's paddock.....ahhh that's not as bad as I first thought LOL!!!

Seeing as we are in confession mode, I also met the boys in blue just before Christmas Day.
Went in to the City to have my Nokia 6120 firmware ungraded and with the new crap about restrictions on turning due to the bloody tram extension. I wanted to park in Harris Scarfs Car Park for a shorter walk to Hindmarsh Square. (Was recovering from knee surgery)
Anyway I spotted a taxi doing a U-turn at a set of traffic lights and followed him around, (maybe 50 yards behind him) so I was heading the right way.
Yep, Mister Plod waved hello to me and wanted a chat.
"Do you know you can't do a U-turn at traffic lights" he said.
Now truthfully, I was unsure of the exact road rule, but he assured me you cannot do what I did and would I care to contribute to the Government coffers, or go to Court and argue my case.
No arguments from me. Then the man asked, "does someone else drive this car?"...."Yes" said I. "My wife does on occasions".
"I notice you have a "knob" between the seats". He must have thought the car was set up for paraplegic controls in some way.
"Na mate", said I. "That is the ball coupling for the Laptop cradle I sometimes use when cruising the Countryside".
He said no more, just nosey I guess.
Anyway, when I got
home, I actually looked at the bluey and bugger me dead, the "criminal act" I performed was going to cost me $249 to have expunged.
So even though Nokia charged me nothing, the "upgrade" ended up costing me $249. Just as
well the upgrade worked in cancelling the echo though my hands free car kit.
Fair dinkum, sometimes it's just not worth getting out of bed:-((
