Hi All. No not in the 4by,but with my solar panel.Had it propped up connected to the Camper.Went to unplug it and touched it as I passed it. It slipped and fell to ground and bleep tered the glass.
Can you get the glass replaced ? or is it a write off.
So those of you who have them free standing with a bit of a stick
holding them up. Beware.

This is where the Uni Solar Panels come into their own.
They dont break, amongst other advantages.
They are, however, bigger for a given capacity.
And, no, I don't sell them, just use them.

Brian,
Sorry to hear that. How much does your insurance cover? Our panel is registered as a car accessory, and hey, kids will chuck rocks!
(Bonz is on the ball again: onya buddy.)

If it under about 10 years old I'd be talking to the manufacturers!
Surely they should be able to withstand small knocks or are we expected to wrap them in cotton wool?
The fact that another poster in this threads reports the same and I've seen a few other similar reports does make me wonder...?

Our house insurance covered ours when it fell over in the shed and broke. No questions asked just sent in one quote.

Ouch! I bought a ABR unit which has a built in hinged prop. I added a couple of saddles to the top of the frame and fitted some guy ropes to hold it down, mainly from being blown over by wind. I also thought I could drill a hole in the aluminium prop and put a ten peg through it to secure it.
