Wow that was such a great show. I have great respect for bot the teams, Hammond was amazing mushing along there, what a fit little fella.

It must've been a most exhausting thing. Wonder how they got the cars back?

I imagine after all the trouble they had , they would have left them there rather than take them back out , or let someone else worry about that :)

Heard today that Hammond was a lot farther behind than they thought and had lots of trouble with communications thats why they didn't show him reaching the Pole, after all they wouldve just bagged him and IMHO he put in the biggest effort.

Did you notice the method of reseating a tyre bead? Fill the tyre with lighter fluid then ignite. Sure beats hoping the compressor will do the job.

Did anyone notice that the snatch strap was just hooked over the towball during that backwards recovery? A big no no in everything I have been taught about use of snatch straps.

It was very watchable though despite overacting and hamming it up for the cameras.

I believe that there are a number of clubs in the Scandinavian countries that do this sort of off road work as a matter of routine.

I Just found this site that talks about it

Look Here
Russell Coight:
He was presented with a difficult decision: push on into the stretching deserts, or return home to his wife.
