Nev,

I see from your profile that you have a Pheonix off roader, so should be OK,with due caution.

The last few K's down into the property are VERY steep, narrow and in some cases, very winding. If you meet anything coming out, it could be very interesting.

Cheers,

Cruiser

Willie,

The first 35K (approximately) isn't to bad,. It has some rough spots that cause you to slow to a bit of a crawl, but its the last 6 or 8K that's the hairy part. It is steep in places, narrow, has some switchbacks and just generally slow. As I said, if you meet someone coming out, it could be interesting depending on where you meet them.

Best thing I can advise is to call the owner

Cindy McRae
C/- "Biston Park"
Wollomombi NSW 2350
Mobile 0429 192810

and ask her advice. She is always going along Raspberry Trail that is the road to the property and is the best person to advise you on what is best.

I know the organiser of this get together has said caravans are OK, but in the end you have to make up your own mind. I have been there and I wouldn't take a van in there, but that's just a personal opinion.

See part of General Info in EO Post # 35461 dated 02 July 2006.

EO Post # 35461

It says

" Only the bravest would take a caravan into Kunderang, in the last 6 Klm you drop from the level of the New England Plains/Coastal Range to river level, a really spectacular drive. There is a caravan on the property however I don't believe that whoever took it in had intentions of taking it out again. The problem would be one of overheating on the very steep grind out of the property. I towed my camper trailer up in low range second, sometimes getting into third only to change down again."

Cheers,

Cruiser

I spoke to Cindy and she said 18 ft off road , or 16 ft normal vans could get in there as long as tow vehicles had a bit of grunt to tow them out .

She seemed a bit bewildered by Exploroz . She had just had one of the EO chatters ring her when he saw her contact details on this post.

GUESS WHAT - he did not want to come to the meet , he wanted to sell her one of his crappy fuel saving devices . Cindy was hopeful she would not get any more calls from people of his calibre .

Hope to be there this coming weekend ,

Willie .

I will overlook the fact that you don't live in Queensland to add to our tally... but I will say that it would be finally nice to put a face to the name!!!

Very tempting Jo,

Especially since we only had 3 fine days in 2 weeks down northern NSW over Xmas New years.

But I am already booked to lead our church group (wouldn't call it a service, not that fancy, and no sermon) that Sunday morning, so no go.

How are you and Mark going?

Hey John!
I'm good, just literally work all the time and usually have only one day off every 15 odd days, except this time round. My roster gives me 5 days off every six weeks so this time I am not going in if they call but taking the 5 days to get away and unwind a bit.
Mark is ok, still good and bad days, getting tired much much more now and starting to really feel sick at times but he's a trooper and always tries to not let anyone see. My best mate is just starting contact with the hospital for three to six months of tests, psych tests etc, she is an exact blood match (they will have to check about tissue) and she wants to give Mark one of her kidneys.. A huge thing... so things will hopefully really start to speed up, now that they are finally interested at looking at her as a live donor and if all goes well they will do the transplant first to avoid dialysis alltogether. Of course there are still no guarantees that his body will accept a new kidney and she is aware of that, but it is a pretty huge thing she wants to do.
All I ever do now is just work to keep things going. That is why I am so looking forward to this break!

Willie,

This is my new but second hand hard top camper. I gave it a run over the 4WD training track at AWABA yesterday and it went pretty well even with the standard 50mm ball and coupling.

Thanks for the replys, I must learn to use this forum properly one day instead of asking unnessary questions. I will not be at the meet, not leaving Gladstone till 15th.Feb. heading south, Vic and SA and back up keeping as west as I can, have about two months for the trip. Sounds like a really nice place, enjoy yourselves.
Cheers, Nev
