All (I repeat "ALL") the reports I have seen, read and heard about the wireless units have been bad. You get drop outs and interference etc. I would definitely suggest you stick with a good brand and hard-wire it.
Cheers

We have a blue tooth hands free in the truck and find it excellent.

Can mount them anywhere if its a wired one but a wireless one wont work thru several layers of metal. EG on the back of a alloy van. or a truck with a metal body for that matter

I am currently using a wirless reversing system and have not had any problems with it. In fact, at times it can be very interseting when you pick up on security cameras in businesses/homes etc. Usually occurs when parked outside or in close proximity to business.

Dio - you say "I am currently using a wirless reversing system and have not had any problems with it." but then go on to say that you pick up on security cameras - isn't this interference?
Don't get any of that on a hard wired system.

Had similar interference probs
Mine kept trying to pick up channel 7. Was a real nuisance.

First, wireless cameras are only fifty per cent wireless, you still have to get power to the camera, receiver and screen. I thought wireless would be the go but it would not work through the rear door of the Prado, let alone the caravan. I now have a wired one, a good picture all the time.
While you have the panels off getting the power to the items you might as
well throw the signal cable in too.

Hi kampenman
My experience with wireless camera for rear of caravan is outlined in thread 52938. The answer is still yes and no.
