Are any other Forumites interested in doing the run from
Robe to
Beachport next Saturday 19th January?
I am proposing to travel down Friday night.
Taking the good advice that has been recommended here that a 2nd vehicle is highly desirable is there any one interested?
Where abouts in
Robe can you get a Mud Map of the route?
Regards
John A

We picked up a mud map from the Beechport
Tourist information centre. I suppose the centre in
Robe will have them as
well. Give them a ring.
Cheers Craig...........

Next weekend.....I'm half a chance, work permitting.
What are your plans? Friday night....staying where?
Saturday obviously, but then what? stay down there or drive back to
Adelaide Saturday night?
I've only driven down as far as Erringtons Hole....took us 4 hours to do the last 500 metres....real soft sand....but that was winter, the sand should be packed harder in summer.
The
Robe Information Centre has a mud map....it's on Mundy Tce, just follow the main street.
The MPWS
ranger station is on
Robe St.....turn left off the main street. They have a whiteboard outside showing beach conditions and closures etc.
Cheers
Glenn

Hi Glenn
My thoughts are to drive down after work Friday; get there approx 9PM and probably try for a cabin at the C/van park Fri & Sat nights.
Back to
Adelaide some time Sunday??
Might be an idea to give me a call 0419 823 082

Hi Glenn
I'm afraid that my hopes for the coming weekend at
Robe have been dashed by some other matters closer to
home!
Hope to do it in the next month or so.
Hope I haven't stuffed you around too much

I went down there on the 28th of Dec. Members Borgy and Littleborgy came down the next day.
The
Robe to
Beachport is a failry easy run IMO. There was only one
hill that gave one of the veichles trouble, that was near the end of the Little Dip part, coming off a beach. I ended up just giving a gentle pull over.
As far as mud maps go you can get one from the National Parks office. That is located about a klm off the main street of
Robe. When entering
Robe take the second entry to the park and it is down there. There is a box out the front of the office that has booklets in there of the
Little Dip Conservation Park. There is/wasn't anything on
Beachport C/P when we were there.
If you keep going past the N/P office you will drive strait into the L/D C/P. Take the right turn into Stony Rise
camp ground and follow the track down to the sea. there is a right turn which takes you to a beach (very soft sand, stay up on the track on
the beach).
To the left is the start of the drive from
Robe to
Beachport. The track will come to an end so you will need to drive to Nora Criena which is a true dinky di
shack settlement. This will then lead to the rest of the
Robe to
Beachport.
Have fun
Cheers Luke

Hi Luke
I will have a look around when I get there at the NP Office.
Apparently there is also access from the road which runs past the dump, not far out of town?
Thanks for your thoughts
