yes i bought one before christmass to use when we were away.
now its been thrown in the back of the shed rubish.
total waste of money.
could only get a very bad picture sometimes .
the guy i the site next to us had an antena that he made himself that was a tee piece of plastic pipe that he put stuff on (i wasnt listening when he was explaining to the mrs how he made it)and got a perfect picture when we plugged it into ours.
was asking the van
park owner if its bad reception area and he said no perfect here try this no idea what make it was but it wasnt a round one it to worked perfect.
do a little more research and save 70bucks
cheers

I have bought one in anticipating going
camping in March. I have set it up in the back yard on a 12ft tent pole and have mounted it on the fence using the middle rail as a base and have cable tied it to a vertical post using 4-5 cable ties as a temporary measure. The aerial would be approx 18 ft high, but is in the shadow of the house roof. Reception is ok, but we get better reception using the house aerial on our 10 inch portable T.V.
The aerial does not work unless the 12v booster is utilized. I purchased a `AA ` 8 battery holder from Dick Smith plus a lead to power the unit. The booster can run on any 12v input from a car battery down to what I am using. It only _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx 100ma so battery capacity is not a major issue.
I won`t be able to comment on remote reception when we go
camping as we will be in a suburban
camping area (Tallebudgera ,
Gold Coast) so the reception will be on par of what we are getting at present. If it is not good in remote areas we will not be that disappointed as our T.V. has a DVD player incorporated, we will use it if required.
We paid $66.87 at Bunnings early December last year. If you do buy one, open it up and check that the wing nuts are not stripped where they screw onto the pole `u` bolt. One of
mine was and I had to go back and get another one.
We bought ours on the recommendation of a friend who in turn was recommended to it by another person, so your guess is good as
mine as to weather it has good remote reception or not.
Regards G.T.
