Hi
Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent caravan park in inner
Brisbane. I will be wanting to visit St Lucia area and am seeking somewhere we can stay with a camper trailer for weekend visits. I will be travelling from northside. An option would also be to '
camp' further out and catch train or drive. Suggestions welcome.
Thanks Kc

This is the closest to Brissy that I know of
Newmarket Gardens
There's another good one at Mt Gravatt on the south side if that doesn't suit.

Stayed there(Newmarket Gdns) for a few days in late July 07--popular with backpackers in campervans, and with big rigs arriving for EKKA. Its easy to find from the north and allowed us easy access to the south when leaving
Brisbane. Bus to city is very close to park as is shopping centre and pub. Park is Ok and we had two sites along fence overlooking creek and bike path.

There is also a caravan park at Aspley but I don't know what it is like.
A little further out at Petrie is a
rest area (popular
free camp) next to a train line if you want to take public transport into the city.

Hi Alan,
Rumours of goings on at Aspley Acres would prevent me from staying there, fortunately I live only 5 mins from here and have no need to stay there.
Sorry to the owners of this park if the rumours are untrue.
Regards, Trevor.

Aspley Acres is on Gympie Rd in Aspley and is more of an "affordable accommodation" place than an actual caravan park.
There is a Big4 on Zillmere Rd in Aspley and it is fully secured park with cabins and van sites. They offer a storage facility also. Quite a nice place. Expensive but it's close to a capital city so that's what you pay for
The Newmarket site is on
Ashgrove Ave and is quite handy to public transport and alot closer to St. Lucia than Aspley. Have only driven past it but it looks nice enough.

I'll back Newmarket Gardens; had to go to Brissy for a weekend workshop and found it very handy, clean, friendly staff etc.
