Hi hotabbots
Where I live and work, it is regional SA. We sell the Strong Set top boxes. They are one of the best for poor TV reception area. The most important thing about Strong is they have their origins are in the Middle East, and they only import set top boxes into Australia. By buying one of their boxes, you know that their vested interest is making the best box as possible.
You will not be disappointed in your purchase.

Cheers

Yep, I am with you Stephen on the Digital Set Top box. Have a Strong here too with an 80gig hard drive. They have a strong reputation if you pardon the pun.

Yeh, I bought one (STRONG set-top box) to go with the new LCD Samsung just before Xmas. I must say though, I'm not 100% happy with it. There are times when the reception is "scratchy"....no picture and only partial voices. I find that if I turn the Strong off (with the switch on the back, not just on the remote), and leave it for 15 minutes, then it seems to be okay.

I can't trace the fault to anything else.....the TV works okay when the STB is off and the boys' PS2 also works ok.

If anybody's got any bright ideas, please let me know. It's one of those intermittent things and I'll bet that if I took it back to the shop, they'd test it and find that it works ok.....

Hi Roachie
If the problem persists and you are not happy, give their Help Desk a call during office hours, 1800 820 030 and you should find them very helpful. If still not happy, let me know and I will give you the State Managers Number, and you will find that Andrew will go well out of this way to get it sorted out.

Cheers

Is there enough ventilation to the box. Make sure it is not in any way getting to hot. A lot of digital boxes don't have the right amount of heat sinks and we tend to stack them on top of each other. Try isolating it and see how that goes

My mate bought a unit from Coastline trading at Biggera Waters for $214.

Works great.
