Hi all and happy new year. I bought a motor car at West Gosford and they had put Chemical weld in the motor so four weeks after I bought the Pajero I am told The motor has a value or a cylinder gone. This is going to cost $2500 to get fixed. I have a 12 months warranty but the cylinder is not included in the warranty.
I was told that their are second hand Jap motors with only 40klms on them for about $700 any advise or help you can give would be so great. Many Thanks Gipsy

At first reading this does not seem right or fair. Did you buy it from a yard or privately ? AFAIK NSW has some of the strongest consumer legislation around.

Thankyou for your concern I will look up AFAIK and see what they have to say. I bought it from a dealer and requested the 12 months warranty. But the warranty does not cover the part that broke. I do not know if the dealer put the chemical weld in or the previous owner.

Sadly many so called "warranties" aren't worth the paper they're written on. Here in Qld we appear to have little redress. But I believe that NSW might be a different matter.
Good luck!

Hi, I have bought and install several low mileage Jap inports ( 40.000ks) Mazda 1.8, Toyota 1.6, Subaru.1.8 OHC and they seem ed pretty good. The one I put in my Subaru was a lot better motor than the one I bought it with, mostly you have to strip everything off down to the block as all their ancilleries are different, but well worth the effort,
Mine were from Rising Sun Inports , in S.A.
Cheers Des.
