We want to fit a Safari intercooler to our 1995 Turbo Diesel AUTO Trans 80 series.
Trouble is the oil transmission cooler is in front of the radiator where the intercooler radiator usually goes.
Has anyone out there had this operation? Any recommendations on a good fitter on the Central Coast /
Newcastle or Northern
Sydney. I've heard the blokes in Wetherill Park are good?
Thanks Ralph

This is the reply I got from APS systems which is Safari intercooler when I enquired last year.
"The intercooler should fit on your 80 series without a problem as it sits on the opposite side of the oil cooler."
Didn't end up doing it because I was also contemplating gas.
And wanted power when off road rather than for towing.
With the price of diesel I may still do the gas conversion.

Hi David,
Thanks for the advice re intercooler radiator.
We considerd gas and came within a whisker of having it done along with performance exhaust. We found it hard to find others who have done this on 80 sereis so are holding off. One guy in our club has it on his troopy and has suffered problems. It's a bit fringe for our liking. Also getting gas in the outback can be hard and the 30 litre tank wont cover two full Diesel tanks. Having driven an 80 sereis with a safari intercooler though the low down poke is amazing.
