i am thinking of buying either a TX3400 or a UH013 CB radio ... the ones with the separate faces ... does anyone have this type of vehicle and either one of these CB radios and can they explain where they fitted them to the vehicle??

SC,

I can't help you with the advice on fitting, but I have used, and highly reccomend the TX 3400. It is a great little unit, easy to use, and has alot of good features. The remote head is a great idea, but even if you mount it as one complete unit, it's so small, you shouldn't have trouble finding somwhere to put it.

Go the TX 3400
Great little unit
Don't know about mounting in the Vitara, but in my patrol I have the main unit mounted inside the void in the centre console facing forward, main unit speaker is fine from this location, remote head is attached to underside of dash below A/C controls with stick on velcroe.
Neat and unobtrusiveKeep your powder dry

Hi,
Havn't got your type of veichle but you should be able to put the main section in the glove box and just buy some velcro and mount the head anywhere convenient. You might need a seperate speaker which you can also use velcro..It works and no holes in the dash..Worked for me..

Not much room in the GV. We mounted our UHF( full size unit ) on the left hand of the centre console. It was not ideal as the front seat would foul it if you ever moved the seat fully forward. There is easy access to the engine bay for wiring through a rubber gromet in the fire wall.
Hope this helps
