The camp behind the shop (servo) is great nice grassy area,
The people that own the shop are friendly & very helpful. Walk across the road to the pub & have a game of pool with the bartender, top spot.

We got stuck there for a couple of days in 06 when a shock absorber crapped out, and enjoyed the stay.

There's a little track that winds down to a reserve on the Paroo. It starts just NE of the Pub and leaves the road near a house (sorry was 18 months ago...)

There was broken glass around unfortunately, but a good overnight stop.

Got no photos but my dad lived long that road long time ago...."good pig hunt'n' " he says! The camp at the shop is just as good as bush...just you got a brilliant shower that pours out a good 100l per second...it hurts to stand under it!.....we had the best clover patch in aug 06...!! Ben and Margaret own the shop, he does the mail run to the stations out that way...shes from wepa.......

anyway.....good luck on ya trip and bring back stack of stories hey!!

Good to see you responded Laura. I thought redfive would have miffed half the EO readers at least in asking "Gentlemen.........." I know some used to think this a blokey forum, but I think most are over that.

No worries John! I

m sure there are a few still out there that cringe at the tought of us "girlies" knowing a bit about cars / 4wd / desert travelling / anything other than washing and cleaning!!

I like the idea of having a good stir anyway!!

I know one lady who has been referred to by a certain Doug as 'mate' on more than one occasion, even asking if she was defending women. I think there are many wrong assumptions made.

I went on a motorcycle ride and ended up in Wanaaring.
Walked in got a water, beer and then dinner in that order.
Friendliest publican I've met in a while.
Only issue was accom at pub was full.........first time in 18 months.....

They did a ring around and got a bed for me at the CWA house down the road!
Country hospitality at it's best.

I'd go back in a heartbeat
