shane

I have done a lot of research on these blue tick phones as have been a very disgruntled samsung 701 owner for 12 months...very good phone for city slickers...but useless in marginal areas

FYI...yesterday I have just purchased 2 of the samsung a411...(one for wife and one for aging mother) they are the prepaid version of the a412...identical in every respect...only colour choice is black or red.......

I brought a412 for myself on a business phone plan...only choice is silver

side by side on our farming property (remote according to Telstra) I compared the two phones tonight...... the 411 and 412 had full strength....the 701 its usual flickering between 1 and two bars

I was told they are identical in all features and so far looking very hard into all the features I cannot find any difference between them

thanks bungarra, can you see the white numbers on the silver keys? bit hard i think. if they are both the same you would think you could get the black ones on a plan. im going to ring samaung tomorrow to see what they can do.

You could try Google, as far as I can see it is silver or silver, even on the Samsung website.

I also got the Samsung 412, it was only available as stated, on business plan, in silver.

I'm happy with their performance too.

Hi Shane
You have a top phone. The only colour available on a contract in the A412 in Silver, as stated, where as the identical phone on pre paid is available as the A411 in black and red.

Cheers

Hi Shane,

As others have said, A412 is only available in silver with the white text on silver keys - real dumb!! A411 is available in black, with white text on black keys, or in red with white text on silver keys.

The visibility of the text is the main complaint about the A412's (and I guess the red A411's).

Check out the following forum for a huge amount of info about the A411/A412 phones. The link should go to the last page, make your way backwards from there.

[you may need to copy and paste the web address, and may need to de-underline 'forum'. When I did a preview before posting this reply, it did not come up as a link.]

There are some links a few pages back to further tips and shortcuts - the owners manual does not give much help.

cheers,
glids
