Am am after a recommendation for a good Diesel Specialist in the Gladstone (QLD) area as Darkie is a little sick. He is blowing a bit to much black smoke :))
So I think he needs the fuel pump and injectors looked at and probably while they are at it they could possibly increase his performance with a turbo.

Cheers Kev

Hi Kev

Maybe its after shock, from having its rear end tampered with.

Cheers

I'm in a dismal mood today, so some one else, can join me!. it could well be the engine is worn and lacking compression as being the reason for black smoke, Nah!, got to be pump eh.....lol

Cheers Axle.

Axle,

It's a Cruiser and not a Missan so it shouldn't be worn after limited kms :))

Prefer to get it checked by a Specialist rather than a "I service everything" mechanic, that way it should be a correct diagnosis

Cheers Kev

Kev Baby........

Pour 2 to 5 litres Pure Clean Veggie oil in the fuel tank. This should clear the smoke up. Then change the fuel filter. Cost should be minimal.

Cheers

I don't think I'll restrict Darkie to a 6.5 V8 Chev and I'll go all out and throw a motor 4.5 twin turbo V8 from a 200 Series in him LOL

Kev,

Give BROS 1 a MM he is still local up there. I wouldn't suggest anyone as it has been too many years since I lived there but I bet you plenty, that with all the construction trucks running around town there would be a good diesel mechanic or two operating up there.

Cheers, Trevor.

Cheers Trevor,

I thought Bros 1 was further north.

I hope that flag of yours is large and the collection of cane toads are packed for the weekend. When are you going to be home from the trip? I am heading north very early Monday morning and comming back on the 27th to get the kids so we may call in on the return trip south.

Cheers Kev

Kev,
The last place i went to for a job on my HJ75 was "Gladstone Diesel Service" at 19 Cotton Street. Turn right at the old butter factory heading toward Barney Point. Ph.49722350.
Give me a ring on 49725712 if you want details of what they did.
Cheers,
Bros.

Kev,

A choked air filter causes heaps of black smoke too. Would be a cheaper fix than the full bottle on the pump & injectors.

We did the pump etc up on our "Limo" (stretched dual cab 100series) last year & it cost almost $5K, in the Isa. Still have palpitations when I think of it.

Trust it's nothing too major. Did you try any "Diesel Power" made by Chemtech?

Hooroo,
Bob.

I have changed all filters already and it didn't cure the problem, I haven't tried Diesel Power but may give it a go for the trip north to see it it changes anything.

Cheers Kev
