Anyone with a Prado had any issues with the cv joints rubbers spliting really early. One of mine broke at
60,000km and was luckily replaced under warranty. For your reference I do casual medium off road stuff.

Hi Rob, as a matter of fact, both my CV joints & shafts are now fully replaced with reconditioned units. Both went at 112,000 km, which i was told was too early. Even though it was outside the warranty period, I still chased Toyota, wrote to Head Office, and their reply was basically tough luck, even though I did the prescribed services, because I did them through non-Toyota dealers, they wanted nothing to do with it. I also do casual off-roading from time to time.
It seems to me Prado has in in-built manufacturing deficiency with CV joints, because I hear of several cases lately.

I would be interested to know if these problems relate to the earlier model or the 'new model'. Can you advise please.

Rob P, I have a 98 prado and have just reaceh the 100K mark and I have had the CV booths replaces under warranty at least twice on both sides due them cracking and leaking. I due a reasonable amount of meduim off road driving.
