At last I can contribute something. Officially announced today by Communications Minister Stephen Conroy that the turn off will be delayed until at least April and Telstra must prove to him that all problems associated with Next G network have been solved. On Fox Sky News today.
We aren't on the road so we can keep up with the news, hope you guys are all having fun out there.

If only they could unplug the ads as quickly as they were going to unplug CDMA.

All I ask is a basic NextG phone that has a pullout aerial and an external antenna socket and better quality than the current "made in China" ones.
Hopefully one will be available before April 28.

Was informed when I changed
mine, the 'phone' you desire will be available in late Feb 2008.
Will definately not be 'telstra' branded junk as is out there presently.
Mainey...

I'm glad I'm a cynic and decided to wait until after the Govt announcement.
But wait - that was a promise by a phone saleman :-)
