Hi all,
I'd like to get all the yellowy brown streaks off my bullbar and make it all shiny again.
Have tried Ajax and Brasso, and nothing's working.
Suggestions please?

Stop hitting roos with it.
Have you tried cut and polish?
Is your bull bar steel or aluminium?
Good luck,
PJ.

Why, if you polish it once it just means you will need to keep doing it.
Have you thought getting it done professionally, might cost but will probably retain the shine for longer.

Get a tube of stuff called 'autosol' - it's about $10 from any autoshop. It works a treat on alloy bars, and keeps 'em shiny
cheers

Damn it I must get rid of that picture...
Toorak tractors are the 4wd's you see in the affluent inner suburbs of the major cities that only ever see the tennis club car park or shopping centres .....

Hi there,
A lovely chap (who owns several Harley Davidson motor bikes) once told me gumption with a little water and a fair bit of elbow grease.
I've never never seen a dirty Harley!!
Regards

You don't want to see the yellow/brown streaks anymore? Get some black streaks to cover them up. You should see the rust coming through my steel b/bar. I've had to spray it twice now yet the rust keeps coming.
Moral: don't worry about it. Each mark has it's own story and adds character to a 4wd.

I've tried a few different products, mainly on original alloy bars on 120 series Prado's. There's nothing out there that can beat Autosol and, unfortunately, a bit of elbow grease.

Sologirl,
Use Brasso, but clean the bullbar first and if possible leave it out in the sun for till it gets hot. Then Brasso will work very
well. Heat is the key to polishing aluminum.
Do not use any gritty type cleaners. You will only scratch it forever.
