hi guys, looking at putting diesel on gas on our 89 GQ 4.2 turbo. went to LPGAS1 and they do an IMPCO set-up. anyone read or know much about these set-ups? i had an IMPCO set-up on a previous vehicle, but that was petrol/gas not diesel. any advice.....
thanks in advance guys.

P.S. it injects the gas after the turbo

A mate of mine does diesel/gas conversions.
Try Pakenham Exhaust and Brake - 03 5941 2344
or see here for some chat about it. http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13221

Do your homework as a good friend of mine had his new Rodeo converted 4 months ago and was amazed how little gas it used! until he had it checked out and the unit that does the gas under the bonnet, was clogged up with gunk, very similar to what caravanners have been experiencing with their gas regulators!
Spoke to him again last week and the same thing has happened again! he is now awaiting to take it back to the original installer for "modifications"

G'Day S&N,

Like you I am looking into a gas injection system for my 4x4.
I have never heard of the IMPCO system you mention.
I am looking favourably at the Ecomix system.
They claim (advertising blurb) that the Ecomix is the only positive pressure system on the market (whatever that means). It is an electronic vapour injection system (fumigation) which injects via a vapour line to a positive pressure phase converter.
If interested check out on www.ecomix.com.au
I am interested in reply's you get and also what decision you ultimately make. I am convinced the benefits are there but its very difficult to find out comparisons between the types available,
Let us know via a post how you get on,
I won't be going ahead with it for a few months yet,
Cheers,
Glen
