I see no replies yet so I won't let your efforts go to waste.
Good size screen for movies and computer uses while away but as for GPS useage i feel a max of 176mm would be ample, and I havn't even got one that big, Nuvi size is fine, it sits on the dash within easy view , and I can see all I need on that.

Yes, it probably is a bit large for cabin use, I was mostly interested in the "tough" characteristics of the specs which I thought might make it useful for 4WD use.

thats a matter of model you choose

it depends on the purpose of course ..
I have a 30" 2560x1600 and a 24" 1920x1200 in the camper,
a 10" 800x600 in the cabin and a 7" 800x480 widescreen in
the boat .. I can run the 10" at 1200x1024 but it gets real small
and for Navigation 800x600 is fine .. I even run my emails and
mp3 player on the 800x600 without any problems ..

for most cabins a 10" is already too big so any more res than 800x600
becmes rather small to read or the screens become too big to handle in the cabin anyway. Even on the boat I do not need more than 800x480 for navigation through the reefs.. most chart plotters have much less resolution anyway. The sunlight visability is the major factor.

have fun

Do you get a commission.

For the price they want they could afford to give you one.
