Hi All,
The Collie Gathering was a great event.
The beer was cold, the women were loud, the
campsite on the shore of the
lake was a gem, the serenity of the bush food for the soul and the tracks orgasmically punishing.
My thanks to Rick, Matt,
Ross, Al and Sally for a great weekend.
A quick question to those in the "know"
Returning to
Northam via the
York-Williams Rd, I noticed a posted road
sign....No Permit Vehicles.
Any one know what Permit Vehicles are please ?
Cheers....Lionel.

My understanding (and not an expert) was that No Permit Vehilces meant that Permit Vehicles were not allowed on that road.
Permit Vehicle being any truck (or otherwise) that needed a permit to be on the road - ie Wide Load, Long load, dangerous load, etc.
I think it has to do with width or height of the roadway, so that the Permit Vehicle can travel safely without hittign signs, powerlines, and have room for other vehicels to pull over to let it pass.
However may be completely wrong (?) but this is has always been my understanding.

Sometimes the most obvious answer is the one that never occurs to me.

Also had a good weekend. Thanks everyone for comming. Had an interesting time trying to leave. Daniel in the zook came
home with us so we could render assistance if the car stopped(no clutch for the trip!) About 300m out of Potters road he lost the gearbox(so we thought!). No gear change possible and couldnt get it into gear with the engine dead or running. Adjusted the clutch again, have the clutch back fine. We are stopped on a corner on a
hill with double lines. Rick came to give us a hand and I was trying to get the 80 of the road and slipped down into the deep drain along the side of the roar. When rick came to help he did the same. After we got the zook running and Daniel was out of the way I needed low first and front and rear lockers to get out of the ditch. Then Danica and Matt had to close the road north and south so I could drag Rick out over double lines. What a mission. It too us two and a half hours to do 5kms. The rest of the trip
home was carefree. Nice too meet everyone, and catch up with some familiar faces.
