A friend has just returned from a trip to melvile and reports that the road has been graded to jeanie river and all the xings are in good nick. 5hr trip
cooktown to starkie, (patrol with trailer and boat and all the neccisary load.)
although they were pestered by dingos, the fishing was good and that was the key to a good trip. locals said that they had 8" rain over summer, sad for an area that may get 100"
More when I talk to him
