Parso
Can anyone tell me where I can source a reasonable sized air tank, say 10 litres, that can fit along the chassis rail under the driver or passenger
seat. It needs to be longer rather than of greater depth to save ground clearance.
So far the truck wreckers have only come up with some too wide.
Regards

Try www.probag.com.au, they have compressors, tanks, fittings and prety much everythiing you would need.
I've bought stuff from them, good to deal with, prompt shipping.

Parso,
I have used an old fire extinguisher.
It does require a bit of work to drill and tap the top for the BSP fittings.
Advantage is that they are usually aluminium, can hold a bit of pressure and are light and in your case long but not to big in diameter.

Yes the 9L water fire extinguishers fit perfectly & dont protude lower than the chassis. The one I used the fittings screwed directly into the hole the gauge came out of. Fire
services throw them out all the time so are available for free. Can't fit a drain to the bottom but as they normally store water I find they dont rust anyway.
Cheers Craig.............

All those on eBay at the moment are either too wide (ie 20 lts) or too small (ie 3 lts).
The fire extinguisher idea is the way to go In suppose other than the drilling and tapping part. I'm not a wizz at that.

Parso also take a look at these.
Seem a lot cheaper than others, and look longish.
Air Tanks from TJM
Not sure if they are available at all TJM's

Sorry to side track this post, but say if you had a 10ltr tank at 100psi , how many tyres would it pump up ???? From say 20psi to 40psi ???
Or are they only being used as a reciever to help boost a compressor ??

Just to boost. I will fit a
gate valve to isolate the tank as
well. The tank would also be used to blow dust off the rear of the truck.
